About This Event
On Trail Adventures: The Gap Epic
Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park)
Launch Your Next Adventure With Us!
To celebrate the official launch of On Trail Adventures, we are hosting our very first group event. We’re heading to the breathtaking landscapes of Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) to tackle one of the absolute premier mountain biking and gravel classics in South Wales: The Gap.

Who This Is For
On Trail Adventures is a community-focused adventure club created to bring together like-minded outdoor enthusiasts for group rides, hikes, and mountain days out. Everyone is welcome to join our community!
Fitness & Skill Level: While the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, The Gap is a proper mountain route with around 600m+ of elevation gain over 30–34 km. You’ll need a decent level of off-road cycling fitness, confidence on loose gravel and rocky descents, and a well-maintained mountain bike or modern gravel bike.
Please note: This is a free, unguided club meetup—not a commercial, coached, or guided tour. Every rider is responsible for their own safety, equipment, navigation, and insurance.
About The Route: The Gap Classic
The Gap is a legendary high-altitude mountain pass riding route sitting beneath the towering peaks of Cribyn and Fan y Big, close to Pen y Fan. Rising to over 600 meters above sea level, this epic loop treats riders to sweeping, wide-open views, testing climbs, and an exhilarating mix of terrain ranging from gravel tracks to rocky, technical descents.
Expect a rewarding red-grade mountain day out (approx. 30–34 km) that showcases the absolute magic and raw beauty of the Welsh mountains.
